Rolex "Sabot" clock from the 1950's

Rolex "Sabot" (hoof) clock from the 1950’s made from a brass casting enameled green marble. The dial is metal with applied Roman numerals and has subsidiary seconds. The rear elevation of the clock has an applied gilt Rolex logo and name while the front bears the legend "Time To The Second", diameter of the face is approximately 3 1/2" , width 5", diameter 6", height 4".

The movement is mechanical wound every four minutes by a battery operated remontoir. The clock is contained in a heavy wooden case bearing the Rolex logo inside and out. Also included are the original instructions from Rolex dated 1956.

Time clocks were not for retail and were supplied to dealers for display purposes.
