Oil painting on canvas signed lower left Rainer-Istvanffy Gabrielle,
20” x 28 ¾”, “White Cat chasing a Butterfly”. Gabrielle ISTANFFY (Mrs. RAINER) Hungarian artist, famous for her paintings of animals, and cats in particular. She exhibited at the Gallery of Art in Budapest and the National Salon. In 1945 she was commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture to paint animals. She died in Budapest in 1964.
